|Roger has a degree in three dimensional design and has been In business for over 35 years, from architectural design, flooring sales and manufacturing, operating a farm park and owner of a London based advertising agency.
He has worked with many businesses both large and small and has played a key role in building several successful multi-million pound companies winning European awards on the way.
He is CEO and founder of The National Centre for Micro Business®.
|He is currently a member of the SE Defence Employer Engagement Board working with the SE Regional Reserve Forces Association (SERFCA). He is a Kent Ambassador and member of the Kent Business Advisory Board and a former Regional Chairman of The Federation of Small Businesses. He has extensive experience across a broad range of business sectors, consulting and managing sales and marketing, design for print, exhibition work, web design and public relations/journalism.
He has written regularly for local press on business issues. He brings a practical approach to delivering a wealth of solutions for the benefit of the centre’s clients. He is a Fellow of the IoEE.

|Roger has degrees in Education and Technology and has spent many years working in secondary, tertiary, adult and higher education, and working at a high level in local government – plus finding time to run his own businesses, he has now decided to try and pass on some of this knowledge he has gained along the way to help new businesses start,||grow and create more customers.
Roger has worked at highest level in strategic thinking for the Kent Economic Board. He has also managed multi million pound re-developments of new teaching centres in Dover, Canterbury and Folkestone. He has also broadcast with the BBC Radio Kent.
When not working Roger can be found sailing his yacht, and helping others to learn the art of seamanship.

|Chartered Legal Executive Ian Gilmour has a wealth of experience in tax related matters for all trading entities.||He can also advise on the tax affairs of estates and trusts, producing accounts, returns and other information enabling full compliance with regulations, planning to mitigate liabilities and negotiating settlements with HMRC following enquiries.|
|MANDY BEARNE – Marketing and Communications; Research; Tourism; Mentor|
|Mandy trained as a town planner and worked within the profession in Kent for several years, but since then has worked for 35 years with the business community in Kent, first in the economic development department at Kent County Council, and then as Marketing Manager there. From 2002 to 2016 she was a Director at Locate in Kent, Kent and Medway’s investment promotion agency, responsible for marketing, research, business||intelligence and partnership working. She also managed the Kent Developers Group. Mandy’s experience spans tourism-the highlight was running the first visit of the Tour de France to the UK, in 1993/4, food and drink, including setting up Kentish Fare, the forerunner of Produced in Kent, business, research and development, and has wide ranging business contacts in Kent and outside..
In her spare time Mandy sings in a choir and enjoys gardening and walking.

|TIM COLMAN – Non Exec Director; Manufacturing; Engineering; Public Sector Procurement; Mentor|
|Having trained as an engineer Tim realised that utilising his engineering skills in a more commercial sense would open up more career opportunities. He rapidly established himself in technical sales and within a year was a regional export manager for a company selling power electronics into the Far East.
Tim then joined what became the Swatch Group in their sports timing division where he stayed for twenty years. In that period he travelled widely and became something of an expert in “Olympic Technology” and expanded his activities into general management in the organisation, rising to director level.
|He left the corporate world in 2003 and is now heavily involved in supporting micro and small businesses and is very active in the Federation of Small Businesses – where he is the National Procurement Spokesman.
He holds a number of Directorships as diverse as a Community Leisure Trust, an HR company, a procurement consultancy, an Indian software company and an engineering company building racing cars.
He has mentored many start-up businesses (including some under the Princes Trust programme) and now represents small businesses on the Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership.
|ROBERT HARDY – Public Sector specialist; Mentor|
|Robert left Kent County Council in May 2010. He has held senior management roles in local government for over 20 years, ranging from urban regeneration to social care, from corporate performance to community development.||Job title at KCC was Director of Improvement and Engagement. He has an established track record in promoting innovation, improving organisational performance, involving residents and service users, using partnership to drive change and, in all of this, working with senior managers and politicians to challenge ‘the way we do things round here’.|
|NOVA MARSHALL – Creative Industry; Mentor|
|Nova has a degree in Fine Art and started her career working as a graphic designer for an international publishing company. Nova has a wealth of experience working for both the public and private sectors with skills in Design, Marketing and Event Management. She has been a||freelancer for the past 8 years working for various organisations as an artist facilitator, designer, events and project manager.
Nova is also Co-Director of aim4 CiC, an exciting, creative and innovative social enterprise that works in partnership with communities and schools to engage, motivate and inspire.
|NIGEL STEVENSON – Design; Graphics; Online Media; Mentor|
|Nigel is Director of Oast House Media Ltd and has a large media design skill base and over 35 year experience in the media/design trades working in commercial, government and military sectors. Nigel has also worked on international projects in EU, USA, China and Pakistan.||His experience includes over 35 years in media design/buying working with SMEs, Government depts. Charities and PLCs.
He brings practical core skills to the associate team with; logo, website, print, signage and advertising design; SEO (search engine optimisation), Google marketing and print buying, print finishing, and photography.
|OLIVER BOATWRIGHT-SMITH – Insurance; Mentor|
|Oliver Boatwright-Smith Dip CII – Associate Director Sennocke International Insurance Brokers. Oliver studied engineering at Bath University yet somehow managed to fall into insurance shortly after, (via a short stint as an accountant) and hasn’t managed to get out yet! He has worked in both insurance broking and insurance underwriting disciplines for large and small companies over his career in the industry. His main specialisms have been in Commercial Business, Sports and Leisure and Property Insurance, but he also deals with household and construction business and has links to many other areas, or knows the right people to go to.||He has extensive experience in Risk management, including training junior staff in broking and underwriting for the assessment of business activities in order to provide the right balance of insurance covers and premiums to protect a business in its activities.
He has a diploma in insurance and is still studying for the advanced diploma, is a member of a number of local networking groups, the local rugby club and is always willing to discuss new ideas and business opportunities in the local area.

|Mike has a long track record in business development. He has worked predominantly within the catering and food industry and before establishing his own business has been divisional Financial Controller and responsible for two companies and a Spanish subsidiary supplying the UK supermarkets and the wholesale markets with a large variety of produce from around the||world. His career continued within this market sector as Finance Director and Company secretary in a company in the Fresh produce sector until he established his own business. His experience extends to Internet based E-Commerce websites and retail/wholesale warehouse supplying small cooking equipment, tableware and other products across several market sectors together with taking the business through ISO9001 accreditation. Mike is an Accredited growth specialist.|

|Marcus is a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager/Director with a strong Commercial Management focus. He has over 20 years’ experience and knowledge of the sport and leisure industry. He brings a proven||track record in exceeding targets in all roles with high level skills in strategic planning, budgeting, logistics, sales, marketing, health & safety, compliance and product delivery. |Neil Williams is now a small business owner after serving on many Boards in an executive and non-executive capacity. Neil has been involved in sales in one form or another most of his career and has been responsible for marketing too.||As a previous Managing Director he is fully aware of the stresses and strains of running a business. He is used to working with all types of people and sectors as an accredited coach with the Association of coaching. He can be a coach or a mentor depending what is required.

Nemesia is passionate about helping to develop an organisation and its people, watching them grow and being part of that growth.
Nemesia is also a level 5 gymnastics coach and is involved in a family run voluntary club, along with organising and running the Kent gymnastics squad.
